We have completed our move to 1977 Front St NE, Salem, OR 97301 where Salvation Army is hosting us in their Family Services building. We are so grateful to them for opening up space for us, which enables us to partner closely with them as we serve the needs of our neighbors side by side. As we navigate the change in traffic flow at this new site, we ask that you please call our office or knock on our doors when you arrive so we can let you into our lobby. We are excited to have our doors open again after just one week of temporary closure, and look forward to meeting you!

We are currently moving our office to a new site that will be shared once we are fully operational to receive drop-in services. Until that time, please call Salvation Army Emergency Financial Assistance at 503-585-6688 for requests. Our Director will be working side-by-side with them through the transition to ensure that our services are able to continue. Thank you for your patience as we make this move.

CHP will be closed from Monday, December 25th through Monday, January 1st for the Holidays. We wish you a blessed and beautiful Christmas and a Happy and Hope-filled New Year!! We’ll see you in 2024!

The CHP Office will be closed on Thursday, November 24th and Friday, November 25th for the Thanksgiving holiday. The office will resume operations on Monday, November 28th.

Starting Monday, August 8, 2022 CHP is pleased to once again provide service to our community at a new location. We are now operating from Las Naciones Church at 820 Jefferson Street in Salem. We are available Monday through Friday from 10am to 1pm on a first come first serve basis.

Congregations Helping People is no longer providing appointments at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church or using SignupGenius to schedule those appointments. We are currently exploring several options for providing our services. This has been challenging as we navigate the changes that have resulted from the coronavirus pandemic. We will post the latest as soon as we have more information. Thank you for your patience!

CHP will be serving clients on the first and last Saturday of each month, beginning June 5, 2021, at a new temporary location. In the case of a holiday weekend an alternate Saturday will be chosen. The scheduled days can be seen on SignUpGenius. The new location is:

CHP will be in a temporary time of “Pause” effective September 18th, 2020 related to the challenges of COVID19 and the need to revision how CHP will continue in the future as we rebuild our Board of Directors. During this time, we will not be operational in client meetings, aid distribution or grant-writing. We fully intend to be operational as soon as we’ve had a chance to restructure.
